With this arrangement, the fan and light are turned off and on with the wall switch and the fan speeds are controlled with the builtin pull-chain on the fixture. 3-wire cable (switch legs) from first ceiling outlet, down to a 2-gang box for the first set of switches for ceiling fan / light control. The source ground is spliced through to the ceiling box and connected to the green ground wire on the fan and to any grounding terminal found there. The source neutral is spliced through to the white wire on the fan. Wiring ceiling fans can seem complicated, but the task really just depends on the type of fan you are installing and how you want it to operate. Use this wiring when the power source originates at the wall box and you want to control both the fan and light with a single switch. A single 2-way switch turns on/off both light & fan. With this arrangement, power to the fan is controlled with a builtin pull-chain on the motor housing and the light is controlled with the wall switch. The red wire on the 3-wire cable is connected to the switch and at the fan, it's spliced with the blue wire to the light. The source hot wire is spliced to the black fan wire to hardwire it directly to the circuit and to a pigtail connecting the switch. Now that you know which terminals to use, you can wire the switch following the same procedure you would use for any single pole switch: Connect the hot wire from the power source to the common terminal and the hot wire going to the fixture to the uncovered traveler. It does require that you have the ability to bring power directly to the fan from a nearby location. Powered Ceiling Fan and/or Light Without Any Switches (No Switches) We recommend this method when you simply cannot run a switch into the room. and that of ( 2 ) One ceiling fan of 12 metres sweep will 14 metres sweep will. The source neutral and ground are spliced through to the fan location. How to rewire a Ceiling Fan and light on the same switch : Ceiling Fans. Switching the light and fan from the same switch with power at the switch (Single switch) 1. Wiring in Multistoreyed Official / Commercial and Institutional Premises.
